Here's How It Works
In order to help students to transfer, shorten
their time to degree, decrease the amount of debt, and facilitate
success
in a four-year institution, USNH residential colleges- UNH, PSU,
and KSC have joined with Granite State College and the Community
College System of New Hampshire in the NH Connections
Program.Through this program students who were denied admission
to a USNH
residential institution can complete specific coursework and
requirements at GSC or CCSNH and be guaranteed admission to their
original college of choice.
Advantages to Student
- The unsuccessful USNH residential institution applicant
is offered an alternative that can lead to eventual admission
at the desired residential institution.
- Student can
begin a college program at lower cost both in terms of tuition
and fees and living expenses.
- Student receives individualized
transfer counseling/advising.
- Student can strengthen his
or her academic preparation.
How to Participate
- When admission to a residential institution is denied, a
letter of invitation and records Release Form are sent to the
student
introducing
this
referral
program.
- The interested
student returns the Records Release Form, which allows the
USNH residential institution to share the completed
admissions
application with the CCSNH
institution or GSC.
- Returning the
form initiates the process for the student to participate
in University Connections program; advisor contact information
is provided to student. The student does not need to complete
a CCSNH or GSC application or pay an additional application
fee.
Successful Completion of School-Specific Components is Required
The criteria outlined in the following links are intended for
general admission requirements to the USNH institution. They
will not
insure
admission to restricted majors with limited capacity or specific
course requirements for new transfer students. Discussion
with the Connections transfer officer about academic program
requirements
at the desired USNH residential campus is essential.
Successful completion of
model components allows the student to
- Transfer from the CCSNH
institution or GSC to the orignial USNH residential
institution without re-applying or paying another fee; and
- Secure
on-campus housing, in some cases .
